Abstract

CLIL FOR THE PURPOSE OF TEACHING PORTUGUESE LITERATURE: A CASE STUDY

Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) is a practical approach to combining content and language teaching in one subject class, an avenue most commonly pursued at primary and secondary school level. Nevertheless, it seems very relevant for university instruction as well. This paper centers on how CLIL was used to benefit classes in Portuguese literature given at the Institute of Iberian and Ibero-American Studies, University of Warsaw in 2020/2021 academic year. The materials discussed in the article were authored by Anna Działak-Szubińska and José Carlos Dias and refer to early modern era. Some theoretical insights into CLIL will also be provided.
