The Economic Crisis in Recent Portuguese Literature: Cases of 2011 and 2013
This essay aims to analyse A instalação do medo and Índice médio de felicidade, two novels about the social and emotional effects of the most recent economic crisis, which began in 2008. Both are examples of how the Portuguese art was influenced by that crisis as well as of some relevant transformations occurring in Portuguese contemporary literature.
