CONTEMPORARY CLIMATE POLICY OF GEORGIA
Climate change and environmental protection activities are serious challenges for former USSR countries, including Georgia. Does the global challenge of global warming influence decisions made in Tbilisi? Despite economic growth, Georgia remains a poor country, so the implementation of the ambitious climate program remains limited. Due to societal challenges regarding fundamental social issues, climate issues are not a priority for the authorities. However, reforms are being implemented because the inflow of external funds depends on their implementation. At the same time, thepreviously declared aspiration to EU membership should be considered one of the factors determining actions in the field of climate policy.
