ANALYSIS OF LINGUISTIC DEVIATIONS IN THE SPEECH OF BILINGUAL CHILDREN
For over three decades, there has been an increase in the number of foreigners deciding to settle in Poland, leading to a rise in binational families, including those of Polish-Spanish origin. Consequently, there are increasingly more bilingual children. Growing up with two languages results in various linguistic phenomena, such as interference, code mixing and switching, linguistic calques, and other linguistic deviations, in addition to the intralinguistic interferences commonly experienced by monolingual children. The objective of this study is to categorize and qualitatively analyse these normative discrepancies in the speech of bilingual children aged three to seven, who are being raised in Polish-Spanish families residing in Poland.
