Author Guidelines

GENERAL INFORMATION

  1. In the „LingVaria” journal are published articles in the field of linguistics.
  2. We accept articles written in Polish and in congress languages (English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian).
  3. We do not publish materials such as reviews and reports.
  4. The Editorial Team reserves the right to order jubilee and memoir texts.
  5. The length of the article should not exceed 40,000 characters with spaces. The limit applies to the full text, with footnotes, bibliography, and abstracts.
  6. The Editorial Team reserves the right to shorten too-long texts, as well as not to accept the text in a form other than that specified here.
  7. We accept doctoral students’ articles for the „Debuts” section only after they have been approved by their academic supervisors (the supervisor sends an opinion about the article by email to the Editorial Team).
  8. Each author receives one copy of the issue in which he published his article.

 

EDITORIAL INFORMATION

  1. Font: Times New Roman, 12 points, spacing 1,5; margins 2,5 cm.
  2. The author-to-date reference system is mandatory. Only the text footnotes should be at the bottom of the page.
  3. Any diagrams and illustrations should be sent in individual files (xls and JPEG or TIFF). The locations of diagrams and illustrations should be precisely marked in the text.
  4. Journals’ titles should be written using quotation marks, but titles of books, chapters, and articles should be given in italics.
  5. Short quotes should be written in the text, using quotation marks, longer (more than 3 lines) should be placed in separate paragraphs in a lesser font than the basic font.
  6. The discussed words, phrases, sentences and foreign language phrases are marked in italics.
  7. The explanations of the meanings of words should be given in single high-reversed-9 quotation marks.
  8. The DOI number should be provided after the bibliographic address if the publication has one.
  9. The bibliographic descriptions after the text of the article should be given as follows:

  1. At the beginning of the article please place:
    a) Author’s name and last name – with left alignment,
    b) the whole affiliation – with left alignment,
    c) e-mail – with left alignment,
    d) ORCID identifier – with left alignment,
    e) article’s title – bold, centered,
    f) keywords in Polish and English.
  2. The main text of the article is followed by solutions to abbreviations, a list of sources, and references (including only those publications that are cited in the text).
  3. Each text should have an abstract (10-15 lines), in English and Polish.
  4. In the footnote or in the main text of the article, information should be given about the people who contributed to its creation in any way.
  5. The phonetic or phonological transcription in the examples should be used only when it is necessary due to the subject of our discussion. The Slavic transcription alphabet is considered the basic one, but it is also possible to use the IPA alphabet (however, the author should clearly inform about it in the footnote to the article).
  6. We use standardized abbreviations for the titles of major dictionaries and other publications:

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submitted article has not been previously published or submitted to another journal.
  • The article file has been formatted according to the Authors' Guidelines.
  • The submitted file is in RTF, doc or docx format.
  • The bibliography and references have been prepared according to the Authors' Guidelines.
  • All uploaded files are properly anonymized according to ensure a blind review procedure.
  • Each photo, chart or diagram should be attached in separate JPG or TIFF (for graphics) or xls (for charts) files.
