Political and civic activity of people in contemporary Russia
The Author proceeds from the issue that in developed society citizens’ participation in politics is regarded to be standard. It is maintained in the paper that impetuous political activity of Russian citizens happen to be the result of hybrid level of political culture of Russian society, as well as endevours undertaken by the authorities in order to minimize and control the phenomenon. The above mentioned activity is limited by relatively low level of political institutionalization and certain disillusionment in democracy. The Author predicts new tendencies of citizens’ activity manifestations and concludes that mixture of autonomous, rational, self‑dependent and encouraged activity of people seem to be optimal in contemporary circumstances.
