Archives of the History and Philosophy of Medicine is a peer-reviewed scientific journal founded in 1924 on the initiative of Professor Adam Wrzosek. Over the years, the journal has changed its name, editors-in-chief and layout, but still remains one of the few scientific specialized titles published periodically in the field of history and philosophy of medicine. From the very beginning, the journal has become the most important Polish scientific journal on these subjects.
The journal is the organ of the Society for the History and Philosophy of Medicine and is currently published as an annual by Ksiegarnia Akademicka Publishing in Krakow.
The journal accepts papers on the history and philosophy of medicine in the form of:
Submissions should not exceed 30 standardized pages, which is about 1 publishing sheet of text (approx. 40 000 characters with spaces).
The electronic backup and preservation of access to the journal content are provided by the publisher. The journal content is also archived with the Polish National Library in Warsaw as a long-term preservation service. It might be deposited in institutional repositories if only an agreement with the publisher has been signed.

The journal is financed in part by funds from publication fees charged to authors, and in part by funds raised by the Polish Society for the History and Philosophy of Medicine. A small amount of revenue is received from the sale of the paper version of the journal. The price of one issue is 100 PLN.
The journal does not provide for any advertisements in the volumes or on its website.
