The yearbook Krzysztofory: Scientific Bulletin of the Historical Museum of the City of Krakow has been published since 1974, and the publisher has been the Historical Museum of the City of Krakow since the beginning. By design - as noted in the introduction to the first volume - the magazine was addressed to a specialist audience interested in the culture, art and history of Krakow, as well as to a wide audience of amateurs of cracoviana and the history of the city. This topic dominated for many years. Over time, however, the yearbook began to attract scholars who addressed issues outside the research areas indicated at the beginning. This does not mean abandoning the adopted formula, but expanding it and opening it to proposals for cooperation that go beyond the local framework. Currently, texts on history, art history, archaeology, urban studies, museology and museum studies are published. The city of Krakow occupies a privileged first place in them, but it is not the only one, especially when it comes to topics related to museology. Texts accepted for publication are published according to three formal categories: Research Papers and Treaties, Review Articles and Reviews and Miscellanea. We consistently address the magazine primarily to a specialist audience, but also to a broad audience interested in our heritage, in a slightly broader perspective than the one originally adopted.
