Abstract

POSTWAR KAZIMIERZ DISTRICT IN THE NEGATIVES OF EUGENIUSZ WILCZYK
The goal of the paper is to present the group of 941 photographic negatives by Eugeniusz Wilczyk which have been acquired for the collection of the Museum of Kraków thanks to the financial support from the Development of Museum Collections Grant Programme, 2024 - a genuine grant programme offered by the National Institute for Museums. Eugeniusz Wilczyk, an art historian and photographer, a staff member of the Monument Conservation Studio in Kraków of many years’ standing, produced a vast number of photographs documenting the history of Kraków’s Kazimierz district and its surroundings from the late 1950s until the late 1980s. His collection constitutes a priceless source of iconographic material to be used for future research on the postwar history of the district.
